How to create an effective pitch: a step-by-step guide

We know how important it is to tell your idea in the right way. A well-crafted pitch deck can be the key to catching the attention of investors, partners and customers, but above all to show that you have what it takes to make a difference.   Whether you are seeking funding, aiming to win a startup competition or building strategic relationships, we want to help you create a pitch that speaks for you and your startup. We will guide you step by step to tell your project in a clear, engaging and memorable way.

The pitch deck is more than just a presentation: it is your chance to let your idea shine. It allows you to show your strategic approach, your objectives and, above all, the unique value you bring to the market.   What can't be missing from your pitch deck? Here is the structure we recommend:   - Executive Summary: summarise the heart of your project in a few lines. - Problem: explain what problem you intend to solve. - Solution: tell how your product or service offers an effective answer to the identified problem. - Business model: clarify how you will generate revenue. - Competitive analysis: identify competitors and show what sets you apart. - Strategy and metrics: indicate how you will achieve your goals and measure success. - Roadmap: describe the main steps to realise your vision. - Team: present who is behind the project and why you are the right team. - Traction: share the progress already achieved, such as customers acquired or partnerships started.   This structure is a starting point: adapt the content according to your industry and target audience.

- Be concise: 15-20 slides is the maximum to keep the pitch clear and punchy. - Get straight to the point: the materials you send in applying for the Call for Ideas will be the basis for evaluation, so use every slide to convince the evaluation committees of the value of your idea. - Show your journey: if you participated in the GoBeyond Call for ideas in the past, tell us about your progress, we want to know how your startup has grown! - Point to our evaluation criteria: innovation and originality, usefulness, feasibility, scalability and impact are the keys to success. - Tell a story: content is key, but the way you present it and the order of the slides can make all the difference. Be engaging, consistent and clear.

The video pitch is also a key part of your application. It's your chance to show who you are, tell your story and let us understand the passion that drives your startup.   What do we expect from your video?   Duration: maximum 120 seconds. Format: .avi, .3gp, .mov, Mp4, mpeg. Maximum weight 100MB. Content:  - Briefly introduce the team. - Explain the benefits your idea can bring to the market. - Share your motivation for starting this venture.   Don't worry too much about quality: you don't need a professional video, as long as the message is clear and engaging.
