The social value of GoBeyond: SROI analysis

Read the report

At GoBeyond, we don't just reward the best ideas: we want to understand, measure and communicate the value we generate. That's why we chose to subject our program to an independent social impact assessment using the SROI – Social Return on Investment method. In our case, the analysis – conducted together with Promos Srl SB, SIM and SIT – examined five years of activity (from 2020 to 2024) and involved all the main stakeholders: startups, universities, partners, and internal teams.

SROI (Social Return on Investment) is an internationally recognized methodology that allows the social value created to be measured in economic terms in relation to the investments made. It does not merely map outputs, but aims to highlight the real changes produced over time for each stakeholder: new skills, job opportunities, professional growth, and strengthening of networks.

Measuring the value generated is not just an accounting exercise, but a fundamental tool for guiding future choices, consolidating transparency towards stakeholders and enhancing what GoBeyond builds every day: connections, growth, awareness. The analysis focused on the period 2020–2024, with particular attention to the Call for ideas and startup support activities. It actively involved key stakeholders, startups, partners, universities and internal teams, providing a concrete and shared picture of the impact produced.

The analysis shows that GoBeyond generates tangible value for its stakeholders. Startups benefited from increased visibility and business growth; partners gained access to innovation trends and enhanced brand positioning; students developed practical and transferable skills; the internal ecosystem acquired new skills and deeper awareness of innovation trends.

• €1 invested = €5.19 social value generated in 2024

• 4 stakeholder categories: business ecosystem, program partners, program participants, and academia

• 4 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) impacted: 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Innovation and Infrastructure), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)
